Becoming a seller at Second Spin offers an opportunity to contribute to the circular economy by selling second-hand clothes and accessories. This process not only promotes sustainability but also allows individuals to declutter their wardrobes and earn extra income. Below are the steps involved in becoming a seller on the platform.
Selling FAQs
📅 How long does this process take?
Step 1: Collection & Offer
- We’ll pick up your items on your chosen day (Tuesday or Sunday)
- We will sort, curate and select the best pieces for listing.
- We send you an offer based on a pre-determined criteria if you have selected cashback or credits.
- Offers include:
- Cashback -Immediate Payout: For some high-demand items, we offer immediate payouts and take the item off your hands!
- Cashback- After Sale (consignment): Second Spin will price your items and hold them until sold. You will receive between 25%- 60% depending on the brand, condition and expected resale demand for items
- Store Credits: Use my earnings to shop on the platform—with possible bonuses or discounts. Great if I want to swap instead of cash out!
Step 2: Listing & Promotion
- Within 14- 21 days, your approved items go live on our website and social media.
- For the next 30 days, we’ll actively promote your items to buyers.
Step 3: Sale & Payout
- For the Cashback Consignment option, if your item sells, you’ll receive a payout report and payment at the end of the month.
- If the item does not sell within 60 days, we’ll reach out to ask what you’d like to do:

- You’ll receive updates when your items go live
- You’ll be notified when an item is sold via email or whatsapp
🕰️ We recommend keeping items on the platform for a minimum of 60 days for best exposure.
🚚 What About Pickup?
- We offer free scheduled pickups during the Friends & Family round!
- Choose a convenient day (e.g., Tuesday or Sunday)
- You’ll receive a WhatsApp confirmation once scheduled
🛍️ What Can I Sell?
We’re currently accepting gently used, clean, and in-good-condition items in the following categories:
- Women’s and Men’s Clothing – dresses, tops, jeans, pants, skirts,
- Outerwear & Seasonal Wear – coats, sweaters, rain jackets
- Baby & Kids Clothing – onesies, rompers, tops, bottoms, pajamas
- Accessories – bags, belts, scarves, hats
- Baby Gear – carriers, diaper bags, swaddles, small blankets (must be clean)
- Shoes – lightly worn, clean, and good condition
- Upcycled or Handmade Pieces – if made sustainably or creatively repurposed (please let us know if this is the case)
🚫 What Can’t I Sell?
To maintain quality and safety for all buyers, we do not accept the following items:
- Damaged, stained, or torn items
- Used undergarments, socks, or swimwear (unless new with tags)
- Heavily worn shoes
- Branded knock-offs or counterfeit items
- Items with personal monograms or permanent markings
- Jewellery or Hairclips (for now)
- Bulky baby gear like car seats, cribs, or strollers (for now)
- Toys, bottles, or feeding items due to hygiene and safety concerns
💰 Pricing & Cashback Guidelines
At Second Spin, we aim to price items fairly for both buyers and sellers, while ensuring our operations remain sustainable. Below is a transparent breakdown of how pricing and payouts work:

We determine resale prices based on:
- Brand
- Condition and Quality
- Original retail value
- Current/ Seasonal demand
- Category of clothing

📦 What Happens to Items That Don’t Sell?
If your item remains unsold after 60 days, we’ll reach out and you can decide to:
- 🧺 Take it back
- ♻️ Donate or upcycle it
- ⏳ Extend listing for another 30 days
